As you know, in line with national guidance and like many other Trusts, we postponed our elections to the Council of Governors this year due to the Coronavirus outbreak. We are intending to run our governor elections as normal in 2021 and are inviting members to express an interest at this stage so that we can gauge interest levels nice and early. read more
As a Trust we are well aware that many of you will be wondering when things will get “back to normal” – particularly if you or a loved one are waiting for an outpatient appointment or a date for surgery. Please be assured that colleagues at CHFT, like at every other Trust, are working extremely hard to get things back on track. read more

On Sunday 30th August Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary received a special thank you in the form of a flypast by this amazing Spitfire. The special Spitfire took off from Duxford Airfield in Cambridgeshire and flew over hospitals in Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire, Merseyside, West Yorkshire and Manchester. read more

Surgeon Alison Waterworth has continued to operate on CHFT patients with breast cancer during the pandemic and her experiences are supporting surgeons across the world to continue operating. In collaboration with Leeds, York and Bradford a paper has been published called “Breast Cancer Surgery During the COVID-19 Pandemic Peak in the UK: Operative Outcomes. read more

Congratulations to Nicola and Hayley Wright who were the first couple in Calderdale to tie the knot after lockdown. They married on 11th July with just eight guests. Hayley has worked on Outpatient reception for two and a half years. read more
Meet CHFT's new Homebirth Team! They’ve been working hard to support women who have chosen to give birth at home. Since April they’ve supported 56 women, with 47 home births, dedicating 298 hours of 1-2-1 care. read more
We're thrilled to have been nominated in three categories at this year's Nursing Times Awards. The nominations are for Clinical Research Nursing, Emergency and Critical care and Children’s Service Change. The awards – now in their 30th year – will be held at the Grosvenor Hotel in London on October 14th. read more
