This newsletter has been compiled jointly by the Membership Office and the Trust’s Communications team.
We now have signage around our sites reminding colleagues and visitors to social distance, and asking everyone to keep to the left along our corridors to make them safer. All visitors to our hospitals are now required to wear face coverings from the moment they step over the threshold. To support this colleagues are manning hospital entrances and supplying face masks and hand gel. We are also providing bins for the safe disposal of masks.
A whole host of colleagues have been working hard behind the scenes to keep everyone safe throughout the pandemic. Our catering team at HRI have had to rise to the challenge of continuing to prepare food for our patients whilst following the rules on social distancing. Catering manager Adrian Brown took a photo to show how social distancing is working in the kitchen and just how well colleagues have done in sticking to the two-metre distance rule. Well done to our catering team!
In Transport, driver Richard Hinchcliffe went above and beyond to ensure that our hospitals could cope during COVID-19. Richard made an overnight trip at short notice to collect PPE, driving all the way down to Brighton at 3.30 am, a round trip of more than 500 miles. He even called at Scunthorpe on his way back to collect more PPE. We call that going the extra mile!
Richard's colleagues in Transport have also been working really hard behind the scenes, making sure our patients have been able to get to the hospitals for their procedures, and collecting supplies of PPE.
All our support services colleagues, including domestics, janitors, general office and switchboard colleagues and porters, have been pulling out the stops behind the scenes to support clinical colleagues and patients throughout the pandemic, and their hard work hasn't gone unnoticed. Thanks to all!
