June 20 2018 was a very big day for the Trust.
The CQC announced its findings following an intensive inspection back in April and came back with the rating of GOOD.
Just two years ago, that rating had been "requires improvement" so to receive the upgrade was very special to us all.
It was extra special as, if you remember, that awful winter was still with us piling on extra pressure and challenges on our two hosptials and colleagues in community.
On this visit the inspection team looked at our maternity, emergency care and critical care and our community care services. Individually they all came back as good which is a terrific reflection of all the hard work and dedication shown by staff caring for our patients, day and night.
There were some areas to work on and work is already underway so next time we could be rated as "outstanding".
We thank all our patients who were with us at the time and gave some great feedback to the inspectors about their experiences, and we also thank all our stakeholders for helping us to achieve the rating.
