Happy 70th to the NHS - from our lead governor Brian Moore

Our lead governor Brian Moore has joined our celebrating the NHS 70th birthday campaign.

Every week throughout this landmark year we have featured a different member of staff and role to highlight the diversity and inclusion about working life at our Trust.

Brian Moore featured in April and here's his thoughts in this momentous year.

How long have you been in the NHS?

I have been associated with the NHS for 70 years - it has kept me in health for all that time. I became a Governor to hopefully play a small part in ensuring that CHFT continues to give the population of Kirklees and Calderdale an excellent healthcare service.

What makes the NHS special to you?

It is that it is there for everybody, it makes no distinction between rich or poor, ethnicity or sexuality.

What present would you give it for its 70th birthday?

The present I would like to see for the NHS 70th birthday is that politicians stop using it as a political football and reorganise and fund it properly to bring NHS back to being the finest Health Service in the world.
