Reconfiguration of services and estate developments update

We are continuing to progress our plans for the reconfiguration of services and estate developments at Calderdale Royal Hospital (CRH) and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary (HRI).

At CRH we are planning by 2025 to expand the hospital - providing additional wards, theatres, a new A&E and paediatric emergency department, and a multi-storey car park.  At HRI we are planning to build a new A&E department and improve existing buildings, with construction expected to be completed by 2023.

We have the opportunity to improve hospital facilities to provide a safer, high quality and therapeutic environment for patients and exceptional working conditions for colleagues. The developments will deliver improved health and care services and facilities for people across Calderdale and Huddersfield.

During February and March we will be meeting with stakeholders and asking local residents for their views on the building proposals at CRH and HRI. We want to listen to views from local people, colleagues and stakeholders about the design, appearance and other planning matters related to the project.

Reflecting the COVID-19 restrictions and the need for social distancing we will be providing an online portal and telephone line which will invite feedback together with mail-drops to local residents.
