Marilyn Rogers was “shocked, surprised and thrilled in equal measure” to learn a gong was coming her way in the New Year’s Honours list.
She said: “When I received the news from the Cabinet Office it was a surreal, extraordinary, and wonderful moment. I am overwhelmed and absolutely thrilled but also immensely proud and I feel privileged to have been recognised in this way.”
She also said she couldn’t have done it without the support of CHFT. “This honour also belongs to all my colleagues and volunteer breastfeeding peer supporters who have supported and worked alongside me over the years.
“I have the absolute honour of doing a job that is life enhancing. Caring for new mothers, babies and families every day, at a special time in their lives, has been very rewarding. I can honestly say I have treasured every moment.”
