We know how important it is to keep in touch with our local communities so we're delighted to be able to tell you that we are increasing the number of editions of our newsletter to three per year. Going forward, you'll receive this newsletter in February, June and October.
As mentioned in the last newsletter, due to COVID-19 we have had to postpone our AGM until later in the year. As soon as we have a confirmed date we will let members know.
We're trying hard to ensure that we keep our governors involved despite not being able to have face-to-face meetings with them. This month the governors have been able to have their first virtual Divisional Reference Group meetings, and despite the odd technical hitch, the meetings went well. The governors heard in detail about how our divisions and services have been coping during the pandemic, and many of them expressed their gratitude for the lengths our colleagues have gone to in order to care for our patients at this difficult time.
We are presently exploring how we can involve members and members of the public in our Board meetings and Council of Governors meetings through the use of technology. We hope to be able to have something in place in time for our AGM and the Council of Governors meeting in October.
During this critical time for the NHS we have been immensely grateful for the support we have received from our local communities. Do you know anyone who might like to support us by becoming a member of the Trust? Anyone aged 16 or over who lives in our local areas can join - there are more details about membership and what's involved on our website, here.
