Apprentice Zille joins our award-winning scheme. Find out how you can become an apprentice at CHFT

At CHFT we have an award-winning dedicated team delivering apprenticeship programmes.

Prior to the introduction of the apprenticeship levy in 2017, the team co-delivered the programmes with a local college but in May 2017, the team achieved Employer Provider status which meant that the Trust could start to deliver apprenticeships in-house, giving us both financial advantages and the ability to offer a growing number of entry level apprenticeship opportunities for people aspiring to have a career in healthcare.

The apprenticeship scheme has become embedded here at CHFT and we see it as an opportunity to grow our own workforce of the future. This entry route to employment for band 2 vacancies is now the norm and we have capacity to offer 80 clinical apprenticeship places over six intakes each year. Managers tell us that apprentices bring enthusiasm and dedication to our clinical areas and they welcome the fact that the apprentices are correctly trained and supported thanks to the programme.

We're very proud to report that all of our apprentices have either secured employment at CHFT or progressed to higher education on completion of the programme.

In October last year we were delighted to welcome our own apprentice - Zille Khan - to the Membership Office.  Zille is already proving to be a very valued member of the team.  Here she is (front, centre) pictured with the Apprenticeship Team at our recent staff awards ceremony, where the team won an award in recognition of their success with the apprenticeship scheme.
