Owen's OBE - and his thanks for all his support
We were thrilled to learn our CEO Owen Williams had been awarded an OBE in the New Year Honours list. The honour - for services to healthcare in West Yorkshire - was unveiled in late December and the investiture at Buckingham Palace will be later this year.
What a night! Three teams in the NHS "Oscars"
The Trust celebrated its best ever night at the Health Service Journal 2019 awards with three of our teams through to the finals.
How technology is helping us to care for you.
Our Trust is currently one of the most advanced in the country in terms of using technology to support healthcare. We converted to Electronic Patient Records (EPR) in 2017 - replacing old-style paper folders - and since then have introduced digital solutions in many areas of the Trust.
Alison opens new unit for our frailty patients.
A new Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) Unit has been opened at HRI for our frailty patients. Renee Comerford, Nurse Consultant for Older People and Head of the Acute Frailty Service, told us: "This unit will provide a multi-disciplinary response as soon as a patient presents in SDEC.

At both our hospitals we have Honeycomb memorials and Remembrance Rose Gardens (the one at HRI is pictured) to honour the memory of our patients who have given the gift of life.

Council of Governors meeting dates for 2020
Our Council of Governors meets four times per year (plus the AGM) and the public part of the meeting is open for all members to attend. Dates of meetings can be found on our website (www.cht.nhs.uk) - here's the details for the remainder of 2020: Thursday 23 April - 3.30 pm to 5.

few words from our Lead Governor Stephen Baines was elected as our Lead Governor in December 2019. Stephen is one of two governors for Skircoat and Lower Calder Valley and he is in his fourth year as a governor.
